SLIPKNOT's SID WILSON Collaborating With FEAR FACTORY's HERRERA
September 28, 2006SLIPKNOT DJ Sid Wilson (a.k.a. DJ Starscream) has told The Des Moines Register that he is currently collaborating with FEAR FACTORY drummer Raymond Herrera on a new project. "There's not really a per se style yet," he said. "We're just kind of creating music and seeing what we're coming up with. We haven't decided what any of it's for."
Wilson, whose new album, "The New Leader", was recently released through N2O Records, is eager to turn 30 in January and roll out a slew of side projects.
"To me I think 30 is kind of like where most men start their life," Wilson said. "A lot of men in the entertainment business kind of just start doin' what they're meant to do."
Wilson celebrates "The New Leader" on Saturday in downtown Des Moines with two of his fellow DJs in the SOUND PROOF COALITION that was formed before he joined SLIPKNOT. Also get ready for these upcoming projects from SLIPKNOT's junior member, who's still a strong member of the core:
NEW STARS OF THE END TIMES - Wilson's Des Moines-based hip-hop group. "We've been working on that forever ... working on it in between the SLIPKNOT schedule," he said.
MY LOVE AFFAIR - "I don't really know what it is. You could say it's like pop-rock. I'm playing piano and doing a little bit of singing as well."
TUFF BONG - Wilson's new Des Moines-based hip-hop record label will launch with Bay Area rapper Charlie Kane and a pair of Des Moines artists: rapper Izzy Dunfore and R&B singer/rapper Joe Ashby.
